For over 30 years, Donato Reception Centre has been part of Adelaide’s love stories, family traditions and most meaningful celebrations. From weddings and cultural celebrations to community events, milestone occasions and corporate gatherings, we have had the privilege of welcoming generations of families through our doors.
Founded with strong European roots and traditions by the Donato family, it was built on the belief that great food, warm hospitality and bringing people together are at the heart of every celebration. While the venue has evolved over the years, the feeling has always remained the same. We want people to walk through our doors and feel welcomed, cared for and excited for the moments ahead.
Today we proudly celebrate Adelaide’s multicultural community and love creating events that reflect the people and families we work with. From Italian and Greek weddings to Asian banquets, Indian celebrations, Afghan events and everything in between, every event tells a different story and we feel incredibly honoured to be a part of it.
Whether you are planning a wedding, celebrating a milestone or gathering the people who matter most, our goal has always been simple. To create beautiful experiences and memories that stay with you long after the night ends.
Meet Aga Your Event Manager.
Hi, I'm Aga your functions and events manager and I’ll most likely be the first person you speak with when you begin your journey with us.
From your initial enquiry through to venue tours, planning, and coordinating and all the little details in between, I’m here to guide you through the process and help bring your vision to life.
With a lengthy background in event management and wedding & event photography, I understand that some of the most meaningful moments are often found in the little details.
Planning an event should feel exciting, enjoyable and something you genuinely look forward to. My goal is to help make the process feel easy, supportive and enjoyable while creating a celebration that feels like you.

Meet Heidi — The Owner.
Hello, I'm Heidi.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about Donato.
As someone with a proud European background and a deep appreciation for hospitality, family and bringing people together, creating memorable celebrations has always been close to my heart. In 2016, I had the privilege of taking ownership of Donato, a venue that had already established itself as a much-loved part of Adelaide's celebrations. Over the years, it has been incredibly rewarding to continue its legacy while creating new memories for the hundreds of couples, families and communities who choose to celebrate with us each year.
To me, Donato has always been about more than simply hosting events. It is about bringing people together, creating meaningful experiences, and providing a place where memories are made and cherished for years to come. I am incredibly proud of the dedicated team behind Donato, whose passion, care and attention to detail help bring every celebration to life. Together, we are committed to ensuring every guest feels welcomed, every event feels special, and every client feels supported throughout their journey with us.
